College Or Trade School Scholarship Program

Scholarships:

Two scholarships of $1,000 each will be given to deserving graduating high school students who are members, or their parents/guardians are members of CSCU, for at least six months.

• $750 to the student — payable to the attending college, university or trade school.

• $250 Grant to the teacher — who the student chooses as being the most pivotal during the student’s educational years. Payable to the teacher and school to be utilized in his/her classroom for educational purposes.

Judging:

The Judging Committee will score each requirement on the following categories:

• Honors and Awards

• Extra Curricular Activities/Organizations

• 300 to 500 word essay—Judged on content and the use of proper English grammar.

Qualifying Criteria:

1. Must be a graduating High School Senior.

2. Must be planning to attend a college, university or trade school.

3. Applicant or parent/guardian must be a member in good standing of CSCU for at least six months.

4. CSCU employees, committee members, affiliates, and their immediate families are not eligible for this program.

Application Requirements:

1. Completed application including:

a) List of honors and awards received

b) List of extra curricular activities and/or organizations

c) List of volunteer work and/or job experience

2. Typed double-spaced essay of 300 to 500 words on “How Community Schools Credit Union Benefits Individuals and Their Community.”

3. Letter of acceptance to college, university, or trade school (if available).

The winners will be notified

on April 30, 2010.
